Mr. Prunchunas held the position of Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer from 1998 to 2022.  Prior to this position, he was Vice President of Finance from1993 to 1998. He served as Chief Financial Officer at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Northridge, California from 1989 to 1993.  Mr. Prunchunas had been previously affiliated with Cedars-Sinai from 1981 to 1989, first as an Associate Director of Finance (1981-83) and later as a Director of Finance (1983 – 89).  He worked on the consulting staff of the accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young LLP) (1976 – 80).

He also worked at Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Illinois and Blue Cross of California (1973 – 76).  Mr. Prunchunas is a past Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has held both regional and national positions with that organization. He received his bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Illinois in Chicago.

Mr. Prunchunas retired from his position as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer on June 30, 2022.  He continues in a part-time role in the areas of the Cedars-Sinai's Tech Transfer, Venture Fund, Accelerator, and International Ventures.
