Dr. Aliya Naz has over 26 years of experience in clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, education, training, simulation, and leadership. She underwent structured postgraduate training in the West of Scotland deanery, UK, before serving as a consultant in the country.
Dr. Aliya handled a diverse Obstetrics and Gynecology workload while cultivating an interest in advanced life support training. Her key areas of focus include Advanced labour ward practice, High-risk pregnancy, General gynecology, medical education, care of women with Female Genital Mutilation, and Simulation and life support training.
Since relocating to Qatar from the UK in 2015, Dr. Aliya has provided comprehensive care to women and adolescent girls in both public and private sectors. Her flexible, compassionate, and family-centered approach, coupled with continuous care throughout pregnancy and delivery, has earned her trust and respect from numerous clients and their families. Dr. Aliya is well-versed in managing low and high-risk pregnancies, including diabetic and multiple pregnancies, as well as women with medical and mental health disorders. She also attends to women with menstrual disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome, pelvic pain, psychosexual and menopausal conditions. Proficient in major and minor gynecological surgeries, Caesarean sections, and instrumental deliveries, Dr. Aliya has been a regular instructor at life support courses in both the UK and Qatar.
Dr. Aliya is a certified instructor at ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) and has taught at life support courses in the UK (MOET- Managing Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma)) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) in Qatar. She regularly presents at national and international conferences and contributes to academic journals.
