Dr. Mohamed Ahmed is a highly experienced Consultant Nephrologist with a distinguished academic background and extensive clinical expertise.
Before joining The View Hospital as a Consultant Nephrologist, he worked in Nottingham University Hospitals for over three years. He has played a key role in the development of Nephrology services, including the establishment of innovative protocols and guidelines, such as the same-day kidney biopsy service, primary membranous nephropathy, and ABO incompatible kidney transplant guidelines in Nottingham.
Dr. Mohamed graduated with distinction from the University of Khartoum and completed his training in the UK, obtaining MRCP in 2015 and dual accreditation-CCT in General Internal Medicine and Nephrology in 2020. With over 14 years of experience in the UK, including training at prestigious institutions such as the Sheffield Kidney Institute, he has demonstrated excellence in his field. His contributions extend beyond clinical practice, as evidenced by his fellowship with the Royal Colleges of Physicians Edinburgh in 2023 and his receipt of the Immunopsuppression Award from the British Transplant Society in 2018.
Dr. Mohamed is also actively engaged in teaching and research, having presented various topics on kidney disease both nationally and internationally. His practice encompasses a wide range of nephrological conditions in adults (above 16 years old), including hypertension, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, kidney transplant-related issues, proteinuria, hematuria (below 50 years old in absence of kidney stones), electrolyte imbalance, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis.
